Because the more you know about what to expect along your journey, the better! Obstacles such as tolls and ferries are now indicated on the route path to show you exactly where these obstacles will be encountered. These will still be included in the route description card as well.

Avoiding obstacles:
To avoid any unwanted obstacles, you can make route preferences within your journey planning. Simply head to the “Options” menu when planning a ride, then select “Route preferences” and make your selections there:
Cyclists will have the options to avoid ferries, steps and barriers, and unpaved surfaces:
Please note: Avoid steps and barriers and unpaved surface route preference selections are only available in locations with Beeline Smart Routing. Most Beeliners are in locations with Smart Routing, but please find the full list here if you're unsure!

Please note:
Avoid Highways Behaviour (UK): The "Avoid Highways" toggle only avoids motorways and restricted "special roads" (roads off-limits to cyclists and pedestrians). It will not avoid standard A-roads or dual carriageways, so routing customers onto those is expected app behaviour.
