Recording a ride without a destination

How to go for a ride with your Beeline app or device without setting a destination

Updated this week

We stand by our navigation abilities, but we know there isn't always a destination in mind! For the days that you're simply looking for a nice ride out, but want the stats to show for it, give our Record mode a go!

There are two ways to Record a ride without a destination with Beeline:

  1. From the Beeline device*

  2. From the Beeline app

To learn more about starting a recorded ride without a destination from Beeline devices, please view our dedicated support article here.

*The start ride from device feature is only available on Moto II and Velo 2 devices

Watch our latest video on recording a ride:

Please note: While this video does show our Moto II device, please know that the steps are universal towards all of our devices.

To start your free ride adventure from the Beeline app, head to the Ride tab, and select the Record Option:

Once you select this, hit the record button one more time in the app, and you'll be ready to ride:

It's as simple as that! Once you've selected this option, your Beeline will provide all of the stats you'd usually have access to while recording your journey, without directions, of course :)

Please note:

  • All recorded rides will be automatically stored to view after riding in the "Journeys" tab

  • If this recorded ride was one you'd like to ride again, you can save it as a "Saved route" by downloading it as a GPX file. Once you've completed your ride, use the "Options" menu in the upper left corner > "Share/download" and this will be saved as a GPX file. When you're ready to re-ride this, import the GPX file into your app, and you'll be good to go. You can save it to the "saved routes" at that point if you fancy, too!

    • To learn more about importing and exporting rides from the Beeline app, please see our support article here.

Happy Beelining!
