For more of a real-world feel whilst route planning and viewing journeys, Beeline Plus users can now use 3D maps within the Beeline app. Whether you’re preparing for a trip through the mountains or a simple city ride, 3D maps will help to visualise the terrain and landmarks you may encounter in more detail!
Please note: This change has gone live for iOS users, and will be released to Android Plus users soon as well.
How to enable 3D Maps:
The 3D Map option can be selected from the journey planning Options menu. Start by heading to “Ride” > “Plan a ride” then select the “Options” menu in the upper right-hand corner.
From the Options menu, select “Map type” where you can then select the 3D Map option.
Once enabled, zoom in to see the surrounding terrain and building heights in detail:

How to control the map view:
Use two fingers to control the angle at which you are viewing the map:
Slide the map up with two fingers to tilt the map flat to view as if from the ground level.
Slide down with two fingers to bring it back to the top-down view.
And just like that, you’re off to viewing your surroundings in the Beeline app as you would in real life!
Notes:
For the time being, terrain and buildings are not transparent, and may block the route path line. Tweaks will come to this soon!
Plans to upgrade this to 3D satellite views are in the works. You'll notice this change as it goes live before long!
