If you're experiencing lag or connection drops whilst riding and connected to an iOS system, it's often a phone-side issue and easy to improve!
Here are a few suggestions to help improve your experience:
Optimise Phone Placement
The physical location of your iPhone can affect its connection with your Beeline device.
Keep it accessible: Storing your phone in a bag or jacket is perfectly fine.
Avoid shielded areas: Try to avoid placing your phone in areas that might block the signal, such as a pillion box or other shielded compartments. A clear line of communication between your phone and Beeline device helps prevent lag and ensure a smooth connection.
Manage Background Apps
If you have other resource-intensive apps running in the background, this could impact the Beeline app's performance. This could affect the speed of your app and also the connection stability.
Close unnecessary apps: Simply closing out of a few apps you're not actively using can free up RAM and provide the Beeline app with more resources, leading to a more stable connection.
We hope these tips help you enjoy smoother journeys with your Beeline! Please let us know if you continue to experience issues.
Important Note: Poor GPS Signal and Navigation Issues with Beeline Navigation
When using the Beeline app/device with your iPhone, a strong and stable GPS signal is crucial for accurate positioning and reliable turn-by-turn directions. If your iPhone experiences a poor GPS signal, it can lead to several issues that impact your navigation experience, including:
Inaccurate Location: Your current position on the map may appear to jump erratically, be slightly off, or not update promptly.
Delayed Directions: Turn-by-turn instructions might be delayed or given too late, causing you to miss turns.
Frequent Rerouting: The app may constantly try to reroute you as it struggles to pinpoint your exact location.
Slow Map Loading: The map might load slowly or appear blank in areas where your GPS signal is weak.
If you experience these symptoms, there are a few things that you could check:
1. Check the Basics
Make sure GPS is enabled: Go to your phone’s settings and confirm that location/GPS is turned on.
Restart your phone: This can fix temporary issues with the GPS receiver.
Toggle Airplane Mode: Turn it on for a few seconds and then off again to reset all radio connections.
2. Improve Line of Sight
GPS needs a clear view of the sky. Tall buildings, dense forests, or being indoors can interfere with the signal.
Avoid obstacles: Try to stay away from thick walls, metallic structures, or heavy tree cover.
3. Update Your Location Settings
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Beeline and make sure it’s set to always.
4. Disable Power-Saving Modes
Battery saver modes often reduce GPS accuracy. Make sure these are turned off while you need a precise location.
Hopefully, these tips and tricks will see you off and happily Beelining without any interruptions! We’re on hand to help should anything come about :)
